introduction
This term we have been given a option of three themes to choose from (natural world, openings and fragments). I chose natural world because I could tell that this will be a great journey exploring the unknown and getting up close with nature and more I also chose Natural world because apart from fragment and openings I think that the natural world is the biggest one out of all of them and from this I can find a lot more interesting things than i could in the other 2 choices. what i am hoping to do throughout this course i would like to learn new skills that i never knew about taking this theme. Nature is parts world what has not touched by man or caused by mankind also is the home to wild animals insects and more.
spider diagram
This spider diagram will help me with taking the best images that is linked to the natural world. What I have put down on the spider diagram is a mixture of things you can come across in the natural word.
Heiko Hellwig:
For one of my 4 artists I chose this photographer because I loved his style of natural world and what he look's for. my favourite images Hellwig has done is the water fall hitting the rocks on the side of the mountain making the water go in different directions. In my opinion I feel this gives the image more character making people find more interest into it. Another image that is interesting is the little tree that is in the field covered in snow, even though this image does not have a lot of things going on in the photo it still gives a sense character by making the tree the main attention in this photo and making everything link to the tree.

Ansel Adam's: This artist is my favourite photographer in the natural arts, this is because he has a black and white theme that gives all of the images a sense of sad emotion, this could also show how the artist was feeling before he took these images. in all of his images and it makes the image look more amazing and eye catching. one of my favourite images is the black and white rose on some sort of wooden table, the reason I love this image is the detail in the materials that make these little details that you wouldn't see from far away come so clear and stand out, for example you can see the black lines in the wood so clearly and the little wrinkles in the rose. All of these images tell a separate story in detail, from the choice of no colour to the little details that Ansel wants us to see, for example images 1 and 2 are about loneliness giving the audience a sad feeling, I think Ansel has chosen mountains to express this is because looking at them you can see no signs of life and having no colour shows that he don't whant people to see the beauty/the good side of this image.
Keith Dotson:Keith Dotson is another photographer that has a black and white theme in the natural world, she also makes a sense of silents and abandoned places witch has been taken over and owned by nature. A good image to help me describe this is her image that is surrounded in trees making the cense of silence and also fear, if you imagine that you were in a place like this all alone and didn't know were you were this is the same technique that Ansel Adam's uses to give their audience emotions and feelings

over the weekend I have explored the natural world making a gallery of images all linking to the natural world. I have enjoyed this journey because this has oven me some ideas of a final outcome making me ask myself if I should do more close up images of dead flies and flowers or should I do more or should I do more images at a angle of trees, animals and more.
WWW: I think that I have focused a lot in doing these images and put a lot of time into thinking of what to capture. I really think I have archived good lighting, composition and meaning all into the first image in the gallery. This is because I have a very strong light letting you see everything going on in the image, I have also have a depth of field in half of the image showing a path way with patches of light's going further away.
EBI: Even though their are images that have been given a meaning their is also some images in the gallery that has a lack of lighting, this does not help if their is something that is very important but is not shown be the lack of light going into the photo.

What I have done is I have done is a gallery of images inspired by Ansel Adam's. I got up close to the object I was taking the image of and made all little details from the floor or the wall and more the reason I did his is because Adams has a lot of images that have been taken closely to show very close detail that you would have to get very close to see in person.
WWW: With the 6 images I believe that I have archived Adam's idea of getting up close and getting detail.Macro lens

Karl Blossfeldt
The german photographer Karl Blossfeldt is a artist and photographer that has experience in the natural world as he has a sceries of unusual plants that have exiting shapes. how Karl had shown this is he has put
next step
my next: what I am gonna do is collect bugs, leaves and more natural world objects and take detailed images of the natures little things we don't see from far away. How I am gonna archive this: I will do this by using a microscopic lens what can get up close to anything you put in front of it and get all the small details that you would have to get very close to see it in person.
2nd experimentation
for my 2nd set of experiments I have again captured little details and made them visible to my audience. what i have used is cockers and shells, bark from trees, twigs and spicy balls found in bushes. The reason I have chosen these natural world objects is because out of everything else I have found, these objects had very interesting detailed shapes in the shells and cockers.
Stephen Gill
Stephen Gill: Compared to the other artists I've looked at I really like the work of Stephen Gill because I like the way he has layered images with real objects, plants and twigs etc. I find the images quite abstract because there are multiple layers of different materials for example. Old images of people and places and coloured inc, flowers and other plants placed on top of the old photos covering faces, body parts and buildings. another thing I like about gill's work is all of the photos are different but still use the same technique using the layers of the flowers, coloured inc and etc.
Final Images
For my first final outcome was a mixture of spiders, worms and slugs seen close up showing the detail of their body also the little sticks and leaves the insects are climbing over. when I first started taking the images for this idea I used a micro-lens that I could use to take the pictures really close but every time it got up close to where I wanted it to be, but it kept on blurring out and it wouldn't work so what I thought of doing was taking a digital camera and taking them as close as they go then as I am putting them on the computer I will crop them on images and that will make the insects look bigger. After editing my images on iPhoto editor I printed them off the computer A5 and put them in frames as I thought it would look better if I frame the images than mount them on to A board. one thing that was tricky to decide was the position of each photo and how they were gonna be laid out.

Letha Wilson
Letha Wilson. I came across this photographer and was instantly amazed about what he has done with the printed landscapes of mountains and the ocean. Instead of just leaving the print as it, is she has cropped, folded and crushed the images making them abstract but are still natural world. My favourite image Letha Wilson has created is the last image of the mountain that was folded and cropped. What I like about this image is it is a hole new type of style to display or show natural world in a different way.
experimentation
After the research of Letha Wilson I had a thought of taking the idea she used in one of her images and use it one of mine. the one I have chosen to use is the image that has a picture of a mountain and is crushed by a rock. as soon as I chose what image I wanted to recreate I instantly had I idea of having a nice view of something like a sunset and cover it with something dirty, broken or just found in a place that would make you not feel comfortable. I liked that idea because by adding some thing beautiful and nice with some thing you wouldn't stay to look at gives the audience a mixture of feelings, this could be what Letha Wilson wanted her audience to feel. when I started the first thing I did was searched up a sunset that stands out then when I find the best one I will print it of A3. it wasn't that easy as most of the sunsets were not in focus and cane out making the pixels visible. After I had found the perfect sunset I went outside to find anything that looked like you wouldn't find in a area tat you would say was a nice place. After a while I found some sort of broken brick thats used to hold up fences around construction sites, as soon as I saw this I instantly thought this was a good example for something found in a dirty place.
growth and decay
What I did for this idea is I collected a orange peel and did a video of it burning until the peel all became burned and white. I got this idea by looking at a time laps of fruit going mouldy throughout a month, but because that was a long proses I was thinking of burning it instead because it will be a faster process and in my opinion more affective. after setting up were I was going to burn the orange peel I found that I needed something more powerful than a lighter (what I previously was going to use to burn the orange). this is because he lighter kept on uplighting itself so I went and asked for a blow torch in our tech office. After I burned the orange I had made a little video of it slowly burning with little flames bouncing off of the shell of the skin.
