component 1 evaluation
For component 1,
Darkroom experimentation:
We looked at artists such as Man Ray and LasloMoholy Nagywe first thing we did was we went into the darkroom and we experimented with photograms, chemigrams, making and using pinhole cameras, light painting and a few more. The first thin we did in the dark room was research on florist neusüss and Man Ray who did photograms. from these artists we learned about different types of objects we could use to make our own photograms. Another theme we did in the dark room was pin hole cameras. we first started this project by making our own pinhole cameras and learning how they worked to make images. An artist we learned about in pinhole photography is Justin quinnell who made his images look like it is in first person perspective and sometimes he would put his camera in his mouth or other places on the body.
Different themes and projects:
The themes we did in component 1 was street, abstract, edges and natural world photography. We first stared street photography learning about different street photography styles that street artist use when they take their pictures like looking down and walk on by what is capturing people walking and taking the picture as their legs are open. Artist i looked at was called Boogie who took pictures of gangs, drugs and other things that were not nice to see the reason i chose to look at this artist was because he searched and took pictures of things people would be afraid to take a picture of and was different to every other street artist. after learning this we went out on a trip and used these different styles of street photography in London walking to Tate modern and back. When we got to Tate we looked around at all of the street photography artists and their art work. The last project we did was a choice what was either natural world, fragments or openings, i chose the natural world because as soon as i heard that i instantly had loads of ideas that I can use for a final pice and things i wanted to experiment with.
Different experimentation;
In most of component 1 I had to experiment with new websites like photo shop in street and abstract photography. i used photoshop as i was testing if I could do anything else to any of my photos that I took as they looked plain and wanted to change things up, so what I did first was change the colour of the object i took and detail of the object to make little changes so it would stand out in the image for the audience. In natural world I had wanted to take images of insects and see the detail of their body's, as i was experimenting i thought I would see if i could get closer to the insects with a DSLR but sadly i couldn't as I kept on going blurry where i wanted it making it to show the detail of the insects body's, so what i did was change the camera and I used a digital instead, even though i didn't use the DLSR at the end at least I experimented and tried to see if it was better.
